Welcome to week nine of a 52-week account of my experience over the year with OddsJam.
You can read about last week here: OddsJam Betting Results for Week 8 of 52.
Week nine was a bit of a lost week. A few days without any bets. A few days when I couldn’t find those extra few minutes to check for profitable +EV bets. So, not a great week overall.
NFL didn’t start the week well. I didn’t manage to get many bets in on NFL at all as I simply wasn’t able to get up early to place my bets (NFL Sunday bets need to be placed about 5:30 am Monday in my New Zealand time zone). There were a few days with no bets. With MLB in the playoffs now, and NHL not starting until mid-week, Monday and Tuesday had almost no games to wager on at all. Of course, now that the NHL season has started, that shouldn’t be a problem again for a while.
The biggest edge I found for the week was Gus Edwards to go over 49.5 rushing yards in the Ravens-Stellers game. He came up just short finishing with 48 yards. It was a 6.4% edge.
The longest odds I hit for the week was landing Andrew Copp getting at least a point in the Red Wings/Lightning games at 2.35 odds (+135 American).

I’m down 11.2 betting units for the week (a betting unit is my smallest wager). With only 30 bets in for the week, and two complete days without a bet, I’m alright with that. I won’t count it as a full red/down week (I have had those in the past) with the two days out, but I’ll certainly be looking to rebound next week. I managed to get in a few arbitrage bets again with as much as 6%+ of an edge. Nothing like guaranteed money in sports betting.
I beat the CLV 77% of the time, a bit lower than the last few weeks, but only won 43% of my bets. Beating the CLV at 77% is still considered very good, so not all that bad. When 77% of your +EV bets stay at +EV for kickoff, the long-term trend will be an increasing bankroll. My profit margin per wager was -13.04%.
So, September was great! October has not gotten off to a great start. Finishing the month with a net profit of zero would be doing well from here. However, when you look at the results from the start of my ‘Year of OddsJam’, I am still doing just fine.
