Recap
Another profitable week +EV betting (value betting) with OddsJam! That makes it four straight weeks in the green. So far, 2024 has running green more often than not. Solid returns on Friday and Saturday made it a tidy week. I did have a few days without any bets and a few with only a few bets, not surprising after the NBA All-Star game. Crazy to see so few bets in the feed.
I hit the biggest edge I found again this week, but that was nothing like the monster record +EV I found and landed last week (Week 27).
I’ve been on this journey for a bit more than six months now, so I’m no longer surprised at the consistent long-term results OddsJam keeps putting up for me. I’ve run simulations (Value Betting) so I know the math works. What does surprise me is that most weeks are profitable. It is a nice surprise, and it has made the whole process more enjoyable. OddsJam really does make profitable sports betting an easy and profitable side hustle.
The NBA and NHL are going strong with plenty of available bets. There are also a ton of NCAAB games every week. Now is a great time to start your own profitable sports betting journey! Highlights
I managed to hit the biggest edge that I found again this week. Not nearly as impressive as last week, but I certainly don’t mind finding bets with an 11% edge.
The play was Evan Fournier to score more than 9.5 points in the Pistons-Pacers game. I placed the bet at +130 odds (2.3 decimal) and it closed at +100 (2 decimal). A nice little boost for the bankroll.
The biggest longshot (if you can call it that) that I hit this week was the in the Hornets-Jazz game. I had Walker Kessler at under 19.5 points. The bet closed at +114 odds (2.14 decimal). Hardly a long shot.
The biggest miss for the week was a bit of a shocker and not something that happens often at all. I had the Islanders at +1.5 in their game against the Blues. The closing line was at -268 odds (1.37 decimal). The Blues clearly had other ideas. I’ll take the hit on that one as long as I keep profiting long-term.
Results
(Just a reminder that I’m in New Zealand, so everything is a day ahead.)
For the week, I’m up $193, and you can see where that comes from. I do enjoy this side hustle that OddsJam makes possible and easy.
The Numbers
I beat the closing line 73% of the time this week, a slight drop from last week.
My win rate jumped for the week, mostly the good run on Saturday, to a very healthy 58%. That is higher than I’d expect and surely isn’t sustainable.
The profit/wager for the week was even better than last week, just shy of 15%! That is a great way to boost that bankroll.
With the NBA taking a few extra days off after the All-Star break, I’m not surprised that both my turnover and number of bets were down for the week at $1300 and 62 respectively. I’m hoping for a bounce back this week now that we’re back to the usual schedule.
So, a profitable week with less time and fewer bets. That isn’t typical of +EV betting (value betting). However, it is a nice boost to the bankroll and it is helping keep my long-term trends in check.
I’m looking forward to closing out February with more green. The $1k target for a month is still a possibility, but that would require a few monster days! Fingers crossed.
