January was a slow start +EV betting (value betting) with OddsJam.
Then February came along and I had my second-best month ever with OddsJam! (My best month ever was November 2023.)
With another month down in this year-long exploration of +EV betting (value betting) using OddsJam, I’ve now had seven profitable months in a row! I’ll say that again: I’ve had seven profitable months in a row using OddsJam!
Recap
February rolled along and I was only ever in the red for a single day. Even missing a few days (NBA All-Star break, and some personal reasons), February rolled along at an incredible pace! It was down to the wire if it was going to become the most profitable month I’ve had yet, but there were a few blips in the last few days.
Seven of the first eight days in February were in the green! I’ll take a stretch like that any chance I can.
Having a seventh straight profitable month has been incredible! Day-to-day and week-to-week there is a lot of variation. However, the ability to turn a profit each month is almost unbelievable! It illustrates the mathematical edge that OddsJam finds daily.
February did set a new record for me: OddsJam found me a +EV bet with an 88% edge and I hit it! (Week 27 Recap) That is the new high watermark for the biggest edge I’ve ever hit. It is probably the biggest edge I’ve ever come across to even bet.
What a month!

General Trend
From the start of this journey, my consistency across a large sample is very evident. Over $50k wagered. Over 2600 bets. Yes, I’m beating the closing line value 80% of the time. And my profit margin is a very healthy 4.97%!
Combined with seven straight profitable months you can see why I have every confidence that OddsJam is providing a rock-solid service that can make you a profitable sports bettor long-term.
For those who aren’t sold on +EV betting, especially the ups/downs in profit, there are a ton of arbitrage bets (arbs) covered by OddsJam, including live arbs. If you are in the United States and have access to Fan Duel, Draft Kings, MGM, and Ceasers, among others, there are insanely profitable opportunities. Results
My OddsJam ‘Wordle’ for February 2024 tells a very different story than January. Last month, there was only a single day with $100 or more in profit. February had four days of $100 or more in the green. That alone boosted the bankroll and pushed the profits up.
Being back at work had me a bit worried that I wouldn’t be able to get the bets in for the day. Or, if I did get them in, it would be so far ahead of the game start times that the line would move against me.
Neither of those has played out. During the week I place as many bets as I can very early in my day (about 7+ hours before NBA games start) and just let it roll. If I get a chance, I’ll put a few more in when I’m on my lunch break before the later games start.
It is a bit tricky and I’m sure I’m missing out on a ton of action and potential profit, but my results speak for themselves.
(You may notice that for the first time, the last day of the month has a result. OddsJam sorted out the glitch, and I appreciate that.)
February never looked to be in doubt, starting with seven of eight in the green. There were a few wobbles around the NBA All-Star Game, so I had a few days without any bets. It was a bit strange, but good to have a day off here and there.
After the great start, it was a bit up and down for the rest of the month. It was great to see that red days were only slightly in the red. Even one bet going the other way would have turned a few more days green. But, you can’t win them all.
The Numbers
February finished with $587 in profit. This was higher than expected and well above the expected value. My profit margin per wager was a very healthy 7.65%. That is high, and variance will smooth that out over time.
I managed to beat the closing line value (CLV) 73% of the time in February, a drop from January. Interesting that my CLV in January was over 80%, yet I had a much smaller profit. That isn’t surprising, just something that stood out to me.
My win rate ticked up a few points from last month, finishing at a healthy 54%. This is in line with my expectations, although it might be a little high.
My turnover was up coming in just under $7700. I’d like that to be a lot higher. However, I’m hitting limits on a lot of player props at one of my main books. This has been happening for a while and I’m still hitting consistent profits there. I just find it a bit frustrating because I would bet more. I commented on this last month too. The positive I can take away from that is the limits haven’t dropped in value or resulted in an outright ban, so I’ll be thankful and take it in stride.
Almost all my profits for the month were from NBA player props. Everything else is minimal in comparison. NBA up $575. NHL was up $12. NCAAB was up $3. MLB (spring training has already begun) was up $12. Soccer was down $15.
Two crazy numbers that stand out: NBA Player Assists were up over $500, but rebounds were down over $200. After last month, I thought I had worked through the variance of rebounds. That is not the case. Crushing assists is not new, and I’m seriously considering significantly increasing my wagers on assists if I can.
The only place rebounds seem to help is Point/Rebound/Assist plays. Those bets were up over $170 this month.
Goals
As for the goals I set for February (updates in bold):
- Look to place more than 400 bets, a slight reduction and probably more realistic. I was just short here with 389. That was certainly impacted by the NHL and the NBA All-Star Breaks.
- Add another book. I’m always looking. As a bonus, it looks like bet365 is back online at OddsJam, which will be great for my bankroll. I haven’t had the time to give this serious consideration. I may leave this for now and look at revising some books where I have depleted my bankroll and need to top up.
- Hit $1k in profit. I’ll keep at this goal until I reach it. Short again, but it still feels very much within reach.
Some goals for March:
- Aim for 400+ bets. This seems realistic, but I’d be happy with over 300 again.
- Look at existing books with low funds to reload and get going again.
- Hit $1k in profit. I’ll keep at this goal until I reach it.
March is already underway and I am looking to keep things rolling along. Will I make it eight straight months of profitable betting? My track record with OddsJam certainly suggests it is a likely outcome. I’d love to hit that $1k profit mark, but I’d be happy to make it eight in a row.
