OddsJam Results: Week 36

Welcome to week 36 of a 52-week account of my experience over the year using OddsJam.

You can read about last week here: OddsJam Bettings Results for Week 35 of 52.

Recap

Week 36 was another profitable week. Five days out of seven were in the green and no standout days (red or green). Overall, a solid week without any drama. With so many profitable weeks using OddsJam, it is becoming the expectation even on the short timeframe of a week.

April continues to be solidly in the green and Week 36 has helped. I’m not closing in a ninth straight month of profit using OddsJam for +EV betting (value betting)! That is a resounding vote of confidence.

Highlights

This is the third week in a row where I missed on the biggest edge that I found. Seeing these big edges that OddsJam finds week after week after week shows how good OddsJam is at finding profitable bets in the markets.

The biggest edge for the week was on the Heat-76ers game where I managed to bet on Kelly Oubre Jr. to hit over 1.5 three-pointers. I placed the bet at +160 (2.6 decimal) odds with a 30% edge. It closed at +108 odds (2.08 decimal). A solid bet that I wouldn’t hesitate to make again!

My biggest edge landed for the week was a tidy 23% edge on the Warriors-Kings game. I bet on Harrison Barnes to hit over 3.5 rebounds and he came through. My bet was at +120 odds (2.2 decimal) and it closed at -133 (1.75 decimal). That is certainly a solid bet to make.

The biggest long shot for the week was in the Kraken-Wild game. I had the WIld on the first-period puckline at -0.5 goals and the Wild delivered. I put the bet down at +175 odds (2.75 decimal) and it closed at +171. It was only at a 2% edge when I placed the bet, which is a lighter margin. Nice to hit on those higher odds.

My biggest miss for the week came in the 76ers-Knicks game where I had Joel Embiid to have under 5.5 assists. I had the best in at -149 for a 3.43% edge. It closed at -158 which gave it a high chance of winning. A solid edge and odds are clearly in our favour. It just didn’t land, but there are plenty of opportunities next week.

(Just a reminder that I’m in New Zealand, so everything is a day ahead.)

I finished the week up $161. It wasn’t a full green week, but five out of seven in the green is a solid result.

The Numbers

A growth week with OddsJam, one of many. I crushed the closing line value (CLV) beating it over 90% of the time. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I had a very high win rate at 61%. Normally that would be off the charts. However, I didn’t have nearly as many bets in this week with only 33 bets in for the week.

My profit/wager for the week was over 18% That is not realistic or sustainable. For the week, I’ll take it for what it is and enjoy the profits.

My turnover was way down, under $900 for the week. That is so much lower than an average week. The opportunities just weren’t there. That isn’t a bad thing as you don’t chase bets when you are a +EV bettor (value bettor). You wait for the profitable bets to come your way using OddsJam.

My Thoughts

Overall, it was a slow week. With the NBA and NHL winding down for the playoffs (just in terms of games) the number of bets just weren’t there. It really was a strange week for betting. However, a win is a win and I’ll take it!

Just over a week to go in April and things are looking very good for making April my ninth straight profitable month using OddsJam. NINE STRAIGHT PROFITABLE MONTHS is a real accomplishment and shows you what it is like to have OddsJam in your corner!
