OddsJam Betting Results for Week 25 of 52

Welcome to week 25 of a 52-week account of my experience over the year with OddsJam.

You can read about last week here: OddsJam Bettings Results for Week 24 of 52.

Recap

Week 25 was back to being profitable. It was not a huge bump to my bankroll, but a nice steady increase. Week 24 was a bit sideways. I finished the week up just under $140. Considering how rough Saturday was, it is a great result. Saturday broke a week-long streak of green days. I was looking forward to a full green week to post about. There is always next week.

As I mentioned last week, I’m also back to work full-time, so there are far fewer opportunities to get extra bets in during the day. I try to get more in on the weekends, but there are limits there. Being a good dad and husband are important, so betting needs to fit around that too.

Luckily, I’m still consistently profitable over the long haul. Value (+EV) betting using OddsJam has helped boost my bankroll in each of the last six months. Even running a few simulations based on my data, profit is expected for the number of bets I’m putting in long-term. Not every month can be as good as November or even September, but putting in the work is consistently leading to profits. For me, it is a good side hustle.

The long-term trend is still great with six straight months of profit. Since starting this blog, I’ve placed

NFL (one game to go), NHL, and NBA are all available for bets. There are also a ton of NCAAB games every week. Now is a great time to start your own profitable sports betting journey! Highlights

I missed out on hitting the biggest edge I found for a fourth straight week. However, I still hit a tidy edge with over 20% expected value. The biggest edge I found this week was Kevin Durant in the Suns-Magic game. I had KD for over 2.5 threes at +180 (2.8 decimal) for a 33% edge. The closing line was +130 (2.3 decimal).

The biggest edge I did land was Rui Hachimura getting over 3.5 rebounds in the Lakers-Knicks game. I placed this at +130 odds (2.3 decimal) for a 20% edge. This one closed at -107 odds (1.93 decimal). Keep those juice +EV bets coming!

The biggest long shot for the week that I hit was the Ball State-Western Michigan game. I had Ball State at a -3 handicap at +160 odds (2.6 decimal). Landing these is always a nice boost, even if we do know how often to expect them to hit.

The biggest favorite I missed this week happened to be at -150 odds (1.67 decimal). Worse, I missed two of them. I missed on the Kings-Bulls game when Malik Monk had more than 5.5 assists. I also missed when Nikola Jokic had less than 8.5 assists in the Trail Blazers-Nuggest game. A rare double miss.

OddsJam Results - Week 25

(A reminder that because of my timezone in New Zealand, the last day of the month doesn’t show results. OddsJam knows about the issue.)

I am up $38 for the week. Nothing fancy this week, I just keep betting on the edges that OddsJam finds for me. Nothing fancy with this side hustle, just consistency. With the exception of Saturday when I was down $155, it was shaping up to be a very good week. Days like Saturday aren’t always bad. They do show the books that you can lose money too, and they like that.

The Numbers

This week was very rare for me. I only beat the closing line value 68% of the time. This is the lowest over a week that I’ve ever had betting with OddsJam. It seems like a hiccup along the way, but we’ll keep an eye on it. For context, I’m usually beating the CLV around 80% of the time, so 68% feels really strange.

My win rate for the week was 54%, a bit higher than I would expect. That probably helped boost my profit/wager for the week to a very healthy 8.5%. A solid return.

My turnover was up this week and closer to where I’d like it at over $1600. Hunting for more books to use is tricky. However, it is great to see bet365 back online at OddsJam. They have been such a great book for me to use and it has been missing for a while.

I also managed to get in a few more bets this week compared to last week. I put in 81 bets. The number of bets is linked to the number of books, so finding more when I’ve got a bit of cash flow will be important. I just really want to avoid cashing out on any of my profitable books if I can.

Finishing up January partway through the week let me mark six months in a row profiting with OddsJam!
