Welcome to week 30 of a 52-week account of my experience over the year using OddsJam.
You can read about last week here: OddsJam Bettings Results for Week 29 of 52.
Recap
Week 30 was a rare second red week in a row. I was down a bit more than last week, but not a significant amount. So far, March hasn’t been all that kind. However, I’ve had seven straight months in the green so I have high expectations that March will finish with a profit.
Similar to last week, the pullback this week is ok as I had been on a solid streak in February and long runs of positive variance make me a bit nervous that I’ll get accounts limited (or worse) by the books. Green weeks are great, but +EV betting (value betting) always has ups and downs.
I’m no longer amazed at the consistent profitability making +EV bets (value bets) using OddsJam. I’ve been at this long enough now, including some ups and downs, that I know how it plays out long term: consistent profit at 4% to 5% per wager.
MLB bets have started to roll in. The NBA and NHL are starting the push for the playoffs. There are a ton of profitable bets to be made every day.

Highlights
The biggest edge for the week was in the Leafs-Canadiens game. I had William Nylander at over 1,5 points at +143 odds (2.43 decimal). The closing line was +123 (2.23 decimal). This gave me a 12.65% edge and would have been a tidy profit. I missed this week.
The biggest edge I landed was a tidy 9,65% edge in the Pelicans-Raptors game. I have CJ McCollum at over 3.5 assists. I put the bet down at -115 odds (1.87 decimal) and it closed at -148 odds (1.68 decimal). That earned a tidy profit.
Finding edges over 10% is a regular occurrence with OddsJam. It used to surprise me, but not anymore. I almost expect to hit at least one 10%+ edge per week.
The biggest long shot for the week was on the UIC-Southern Illinois game. I had UIC on the 1st half moneyline at +177 (2.77 decimal). The closing line was +175, so I ended up just under+EV bet on this one. However, I hit it so I’m still counting it as a win.
The biggest miss for the week was on the Mount St. Mary’s-Niagara game. I took Niagra on the moneyline at -150 (1.67 decimal) and it closed at -175 (1.57 decimal). Not great to miss on this one as it could have pushed the week into profit. Plenty more games like this and I’ll gladly take the edge I found on this one every chance I get.
Results
(Just a reminder that I’m in New Zealand, so everything is a day ahead.)
The week ended down $57.Not a huge setback and I’ll take it in stride. Better days are ahead.
The Numbers
I’m back to easily beating the closing line value (CLV) this week at 78%. This is a good indicator that the bets I’m placing, even if it is 8 hours before a game starts, I’m still getting positive expected value by the time the game starts. Yet another example of how consistent OddsJam is at finding profitable bets.
My win rate for the week was 50%, right about where I expected it to be. If only I’d won a few bets with better odds or higher stakes.
The profit/wager was a bit further off this week at -2.56%. One or two bets landing in my favor, and I’m straight into the green.
I squeezed in 101 bets for the week. Lower than I’d like, but there were some additional commitments at my regular 9-5. Turnover was just over $2200. Both of these are slightly down on last week. I’d love to ramp up with an extra book or two that consistently features in the OddsJam feed to give a boost to profit, number of bets, and turnover.
My Thoughts
I’m pas the halfway point (Halftime Update) and things are still going very well. Even with two down weeks in a row, my profit/wager over the last seven months is over 4%. That is a great return.
I’m not new at this anymore. I have clear evidence that it all works as advertised. I keep learning and we’ll see what the next few months bring.
If you’re thinking about giving OddsJam a shot to make you a profitable sports bettor, do it! Now would be a great time to start. It is a nice side hustle.
