Welcome to week 31 of a 52-week account of my experience over the year usingĀ OddsJam.

Recap
Week 31 wound up flat, but there were plenty of big swings up and down. I’m not getting in as many bets as I would like. Considering the ups and downs for the week, I’ll take the small win and keep going.
I get the impression that many NBA teams are dealing with illness, or resting players under ‘load management’ as they close in on the playoffs. Either way, I’ve seen some crazy results for player props which have been wildly unpredictable compared to what I usually see.
This week was slightly green to start pushing March toward profit. However, I’ll need more very green days if I’m going to make it eight straight profitable months. Honestly, even seven straight profitable months feels unrealistic for +EV (value) betting. Days like Saturday are great, I just need more of them!
However, the numbers have been consistent long-term: about 4% profit/wager and beating the closing line value 80% of the time. These are realistic results with a big enough sample size to know this is the real deal. OddsJam finds the edge to make you a profitable +EV bettor long-term.
MLB bets have started to roll in. The NBA and NHL are starting the push for the playoffs. There are a ton of profitable bets to be made every day.

Highlights
My biggest edge for the week was the Hawks-Jazz game. I had Walker Kessler over 7.5 rebounds. I placed the bet at +130 odds (2.3 decimal) and it closed at -121 odds (1.83 decimal). This worked out to a 26.53% edge and I hit this for a tidy profit.
These monster edges are popping up weekly and are doing wonderful things for my bankroll. OddsJam is that good and the huge amounts of data they use to find edges like these works.
The best long shot I landed for the week was on the Kings-Blackhawks game. I had the Kings on a -2.5 puckline and they came through with a big win over the Blackhawks. The closing line on this one was +179 (2.79 decimal) and I managed to get a 2.9% edge.
There were two biggest misses for the week. Both closed at -151 odds (1.66 decimal). The first was the Nets-Hornets game when Vasilije Micic had over 3.5 rebounds. The second was the Raptors-Nuggest game when Aaron Gordon had under 2.5 assists.
Results
(Just a reminder that I’m in New Zealand, so everything is a day ahead.)
For the week, I was up $36. With a Sunday and Friday like I had, I’ll gladly take the win.
The Numbers
I beat the closing line value (CLV) 77% of the time, which is very healthy. Always good to see this stat so high. Rarely has it ever dipped below 75%. Yet more evidence that OddsJam is great at what they do.
My weekly win rate dipped to 47%. That hurts a bit as I’m usually closer to 50%. We’ll see if next week bounces back to 50% or more in the win column.
It was a green week, so my profit/wager was back on the plus side. For the week, profit per wager was 1.92%.
I ticked up slightly with 109 bets for the week. Again, this feels a bit on the low side. A busy time at my 9-5 is a big part of that. Hopefully, I can find a bit more time in the coming weeks. Turn over for the week was down from last week at just under $1900. I’d like to see that number creep up more and more. I’ll likely revisit that as part of my monthly review for March. (How good was February!)
My Thoughts
March is feeling a bit grim at the moment. With 10 red days out of 16, it will be tight to get it turned around for an eighth straight month in a row. Long term, everything is still on track.
I’m past the halfway point (Halftime Update) and things are still going very well. Even with two down weeks in a row, my profit/wager over the last seven months is over 4%. That is a great return.
I’m not new at this anymore. I have clear evidence that it all works as advertised. I keep learning and we’ll see what the next few months bring.
