Welcome to week 32 of a 52-week account of my experience over the year usingĀ OddsJam.

Recap
Week 32 was the worst week I’ve had sports betting since starting with OddsJam. It was an absolute disaster. Six out of seven days were in the red and there is no sugarcoating it, it hit me in the bankroll and will take a few weeks to recover.
However, looking at my long-term stats, it is a mere blip along the way. +EV betting (value betting) with OddsJam has continued to be a profitable journey and I have no intention of slowing down.
A week like this makes it a bit different to write about. It is incredibly rare to have a week this bad. I know I’ll bounce back and I’ll keep telling it like it is, the good and the bad.
So, let’s get this post done so I can get back to profitable sports betting with OddsJam!
MLB bets have started to roll in. The NBA and NHL are starting the push for the playoffs. There are a ton of profitable bets to be made every day.

Highlights
I missed the biggest edge I found for the week. It was a tidy-looking bet in the Kings-Magin game. I had Chris Duarte over 1.5 threes locked in at +235 odds (3.35 decimal) and it closed at +186 (2.86 decimal). A bit of a long shot, but at an almost 18% edge how could I pass it up?
I did manage to hit on a nice 10% edge in the Nets-Spurs game when Mikal Bridges picked up over 4.5 rebounds. I had this at -102 odds (1.98 decimal) and it closed at -128 (1.78). A nice little boost in a rough week.
My biggest long shot for the week was a random tennis match that popped up, van Assche-Ruud to go over 2.5 sets. My odds were locked in at +203 (3.03 decimal) and it closed at +195 (2.95 decimal). Getting this one in at a 4.5% edge paid.
The biggest miss of the week was Andrew Wiggins going over 5.5 rebounds in the Grizzlies-Warriors game where I locked in at -149 odds (1.67 decimal) with a 3.7% edge. It closed at -184 odds (1.54 decimal), an even better edge at the close. Still, a miss is a miss.
Results
(Just a reminder that I’m in New Zealand, so everything is a day ahead.)
For the week, I am down $366. Not a good week!
The Numbers
Despite the significant loss for the week, I still beat the closing line value (CLV) 79% of the time. With that edge, we know long-term profits will follow. This is still clear evidence that OddsJam is great at consistently finding you an edge.
The weekly win rate, not surprisingly, dropped to a low of 42%. That hit hard as the bets I’m placing should give me about a 50% win rate. We’ll see if I bounce back next week.
My profit/wager for the week, unsurprisingly was -16.96%. That is some heavy negative variance.
I had the exact same number of bets in as I did last week at 109. Lower than I’d like and still a work in progress.
Turnover for the week was up at just over $2150 for the week. Again, this number needs to be ticking up for two reasons: I should be getting more bets in and I should be increasing the size of my wagers as my bankroll grows. Another work in progress.
My Thoughts
I thought March was looking grim last week in my recap. After this week, I can’t imagine it getting worse. It would be incredible if I managed to pull March back into the green by the end of the month for an eighth consecutive month of profit. However, I’m always optimistic and know how this plays out long-term. We won’t have to wait long to find out.
There aren’t many positives to take out of a week like this. Knowing that I’ll bounce back with some positive variance is always a positive.
