Welcome to week seven of a 52-week account of my experience over the year with OddsJam.
You can read about last week here: OddsJam Betting Results Week 6 of 52.
If you believe in luck, then week 7 was a very lucky week. If you are using OddsJam and creating your own luck, then you’ll recognize that you’ll get weeks like this one where you seem to hit on everything. It is variance and I know in the long term that it will balance back out. Still, it is nice to get some weeks where you crush it!
Week seven was just seven straight days of winning, with one MONSTER day and another very good day. In terms of profit, I’ve never had a week so good.
The longest odds I hit this week were 3.15 (+215 American) on the Pirates to beat the Phillies on Thursday. (This might not technically count as it converting a free bet, so not +EV.)
The biggest edge I found and landed for the week was Joe Ryan throwing more than 7.5 Ks on Sunday for an almost 11% edge.

(Side note, because I’m in New Zealand, it looks like there were no bets on Saturday, which is Sunday here. I’ll let the OddsJam team know about the glitch.)
I’m up 84.4 betting units for the week (a betting unit is my smallest wager). I almost doubled the bets I’ve been placing to 57 for the week. With the extra bets, I was expecting a bump for the week, but nothing like this. I’m still hitting on more than my share of strikeout lines for MLB. I also managed to hit a lot of player props on NFL. Weeks like this make getting up at 5:30am (remember, I’m in New Zealand) on a Monday to place those +EV bets worthwhile.
I even managed to sneak in a few arbitrage bets, which is something I’ve been working on for a while. I’ve started to take a closer look at which books I should register with next to try and find some more arbs just to boost the bankroll. Middle bets are on my radar as well. I’ll get there, but I’ve got to put in a bit of time to make sure I can run it successfully with +EV and arb bets.
Sunday I was 11-9, but I hit on the big edges, which naturally had higher stakes. Like hitting an almost 11% edge at 2.55 odds (+155 American Odds) when Joe Ryan threw more than 7.5 Ks. Thursday I only had three +EV bets, but hit on all of them.
September is now over for betting. Ending with the week I did, made it a September to remember. I’ll post more about my full September results in another post (OddsJam Results for September 2023).
After a light week last week, I was back to more bets with 57 for the week. I beat (crushed?) the CLV 86% of the time, and won 58% of my bets. Beating the CLV and winning at such a high proportion is well above expectations. My profit margin per wager was staggering at over 32%, which is simply unreal.
This week, I found the time, starting with the early morning for NFL bets, and rolled on from there.
