Welcome to week 34 of a 52-week account of my experience over the year usingĀ OddsJam.

Recap
Week 32 was crushingly red. Week 33 was an insane bounceback. So, after two weeks of chaos, week 34 was mild. I finished the week slightly in the red, but nothing major. I’d consider it a flat week.
The sheer number of bets I’m finding lately with massive positive expected value is incredible! I’m routinely finding 10%, 20%, 30%, and higher expected value bets so frequently that it has just become routine. OddsJam really does make it easy to profit with edges like that!
I’m also a bit astonished that after an amazing week 33, I’ve had eight straight profitable months +EV betting (value betting) with OddsJam! Eight straight months of profit!
MLB is in full swing with a ton of games to bet on every day! The NBA and NHL playoffs are just around the corner

Highlights
I didn’t hit the biggest edge I found this week, but I still hit a few terrific edges. The biggest edge I found this week was the Trail Blazer-Hornets game where I had Brandon Miller on over 34.5 PRA. I locked this in at +230 odds (3.3 decimal) and it closed at +107 odds (2.07 decimal). When I placed the bet, it was an almost 63% edge!
The biggest edge I did hit was in the Pistons-Grizzlies game where I had Lamar Stevens to pick up over 7.5 rebounds. I locked in at +195 odds (2.95 decimal) and it closed at +120 (2.2 decimal). When I placed the bet, it had a 34% edge!
There were some other monster edges above 20%+ that I found this week as well. Some I hit, some I missed, but what a week for crazy edges.
My biggest long shot for the week was Miles Bridges draining more than 2.5 threes in the Clippers-Hornets game. I locked in at +170 (2.7) and it closed at +146 (2.46) odds. Even that bed had a 9% edge when I placed it.
My biggest miss for the week was crazy. I had the Golden Knights on the moneyline to be the Coyotes, one of the worst teams in the league. TI had the Golden Knights at -147 (1.68) odds and they closed at -171 (1.58) odds. I had a 3% edge when I placed the bet. Yet, somehow, the Golden Knights found a way to lose.
Results
(Just a reminder that I’m in New Zealand, so everything is a day ahead.)
For the week, I am down $11. Not bad after last week and a nice way to help even out the variance.
The Numbers
For a relatively flat week, the fundamental numbers were still sound. I beat the closing line value (CLV) 80% of the time, which is my long-term average. It is crazy that I beat the CLV that often over the long term! That shows you just how good OddsJam is at finding a consistent edge!
My win rate for the week was only 47%. Given that I’m down $11 for the week, I could have been profitable even at a 47% win rate. One more bet goes my way and it would have been a profitable week.
The profit/wager for the week was -0.3%, so just about flat.
I was back at work this week, so far fewer bets in. I had 142 bets in for the week. Turnover didn’t take as big a hit as I would have thought. I managed to place just over $3500 in bets for the week. Part of that is just placing larger bets as my bankroll grows. Another piece of the puzzle is that the bets are with books that have higher limits, so just bigger bets.
My Thoughts
It is promising to see a significantly slower week in terms of bets not making a major hit on the turnover. Volume is key in +EV betting (value betting). However, I’m still getting enough bets in a month to be consistently profitable long-term. Growing my bankroll is the goal and to hit that exponential/compound growth, I need to get that turnover up as my bankroll grows. We’ll see what week 35 has in store.
