Results

Four weeks in a row in the green! Talk about making up for lost time in a hurry!

A bit more volume in this week, but not as profitable. Of course, it is hard to consistently hit 19% profit per wager like I did last week.

For the week, I’m up $84.

The Numbers

I only won 48% of my bets this week, which is down from the past few weeks when I’ve hit on 53% of my bets. Of course, win rate is NOT a good measure of success in +EV betting (value betting). Closing line value is the benchmark for success!

Interestingly, I only beat the closing line 73% of the time this week. That is significantly below my long-run average of 80%. Rarely is my CLV for a week below 75%.

I managed to pick up the volume a bit with 69 bets placed. It feels a bit forced as I’m trying to get bets on soccer and tennis. Basically with the default filters on, I’m willing to bet most things that come up in the feed.

My profit margin for the week was a healthy 5.6%, well down from the past two weeks. However, that is a good thing as it means my variance is starting to even out. My turnover for the week was just over $1.5k.

August 2024 reminds me a lot of August 2023: positive variance and a nice boost to my modest bankroll!

Side Note: If you are wondering why I skipped ahead from June to August, it is because I was on an extended holiday. It wasn’t planned when I started this journey, so I had to make the call about how to document the gap. I’ve decided just to skip ahead. It will look a bit strange, but it is what it is.
